TEST KITCHEN LIMITED RELEASE : Saguaro Seed Tang'elly Deliciousness: Cheeseboard Size

Tange'ah what?!

This beautiful limited edition jelly features Arizona grown organic Tangelos and Saguaro seeds. Our navel orange farmer, Silver Canyon,  convinced us to try this tangerine grapefruit hybrid and we are officially converts. What a tasty, slightly tart, absolutely gorgeous fruit. The skin smells of enchanted citrus groves, the segments fall apart into your hands and the fruit itself bursts with juice. Tasked with making a new flavor that didn't crowd our queen Absinthe Orange I opted to separate the peel from the fruit and make two different tasty treats. This almost fluorescent jelly and an incredibly delightful Citrus salt. In this test batch we have two options. Saguaro seed and Poppy seed. This one is the Saguaro Seed. A delicacy in the Southwest the Saguaro Seed has traditionally been an indigenous form of nutrition super high in fiber and fats. I got mine at the San Xavier Co-op farm which is run by the Tohono O'adham Nation. Someday I'll tell you about my saguaro fruit picking experience.

We haven't made a jelly since the very beginning. It's like handling liquid sunshine. Try this one out and let me know what you think.

We have a VERY limited edition. Act now.

Every once in a while we get an itch to develop a new flavor. Much like the original Whiskey Peach, and Sparkling Cherry Lime, it's usually it's out of an abundance of some fruit. This time our orange orchards sent us back to Colorado with some incredible Meyer Lemons and Tangellos.  Our Test Kitchen series sometimes creates lasting winners, and sometimes they are just lovely one-off's.
