Tangelo Sidecar (of sorts)

Posted by on

My Grandma was a brandy drinker. Every night before bed a small snifter so any drink that features Grandmas juice is a warm and fuzzy for me. This is a nice seasonal alteration to the classic Sidecar in that it features Tangelo instead of Lemon. Gave me a good excuse to test out our new rimming sugar. I think you will like this.

Makes 2 drinks
Ingredients:
•4oz Brandy
•2 oz Orange Liqueur - I used Triple Sec here, it's all my mom had. But I LOVE Grove Streets Orange Liqueur
•1.5 oz tangelo juice -or lemon juice if you want to make it traditionally

Garnish:
•Rim with Tangelo Sugar or Chiltepine Tangelo Sugar if you are feeling spicy!

1) Rim the glasses by running the tangelo (or lemon) around the edge of the glass and then dip the glass into the rimming sugar.

2)Fill your shaker with ice and all ingredients. Shake for 10 seconds or so.

3) Strain and fill glasses.

So tasty.
