Taste of Southern Colorado

If there is one thing we have learned in Southern Colorado it's that everything is better with some chile on it. 

This Taste of Southern Colorado basket features five products celebrating the local hero’s, peppers & beans. 

While we specialize in fruits we had to get in on the game years ago when we decided to add some roasted green chiles to our peach jam and discovered a lasting addiction to sweet mellow heat. During our time down here cooking in Boone and Pueblo we have met a few other producers that are doing some interesting artisanal foods themselves. 

You may recognize the White Corn Chilé Grits from Pueblo Seed & Food Co. We partnered with them a couple years ago with their breakfast sets. Nanna and Dan are farmers and entrepreneurs, educators and food makers and have been long time suppliers of the organic Pueblo Chiles we use in our Deliciousness. While they used to be right down the road from us in Boone, we both had to move and they are now based down in Cortez, Colorado, a beautiful and sacred part of the state. These grits are made for kissin' with Pueblo Chile Peach Deliciousness. Delish. The beautiful chile ristra is also from them.

Get Zingys delicious Hungarian pepper relish is made by a woman owned company I met here in our Pueblo shared kitchen and I have to be honest I was suspect until I tried it. It’s reeeeal good. I love this condiment on pizza. 

The Anasazi Beans come from the Adobe Milling company located down near Dan and Nanna’s new farm in Dolores, Colorado this area is a historic cultural center of Native American history and agriculture. Beans have been grown in this area for centuries, perhaps millennia. These beans are named after the Anasazi people whose descendants still inhabit the area. Anasazi beans don’t require soaking making them a much quicker cook. And they are delicious . 

Lastly, our Good Food Award Winning, sweet and mildly warm Pueblo Chile Peach Deliciousness. This flavor is made from our favorite peaches from Paonia, the chilies, and a combination of spices built to enhance the two lead characters. Good on everything.
