Our second Test Kitchen release, a truly tasty condiment.
Ever since we launched our line, using spirits as a key ingredient, we have visualized a future of cocktail mixers and condiments, or ready to drink beverages. We haven't gotten there. Yes, you can use Deliciousness as a mixer and check our recipes for some examples, but we haven't yet refined a specific condiment. Our Colorado Bourbon Cherry Deliciousness, out of stock for a couple years now, was our closest to this goal, and frankly better as a mixer/condiment than a jam. We decided this year, with some urging, to really dial in our ideas of making that; an actual cocktail cherry. We are close..real close. And with this Test Kitchen release you get to participate in the final refinement of this idea.
This little jar packs an incredible flavor punch. I wanted not just a cherry that would hold up to the structural needs of a garnish, but one that also tasted AMAZING, was born here in Colorado using Colorado sour cherries, was organic, and was swimming around in a syrup tasty enough to use for mixing, or pouring over any dessert.
Starting with organic sour cherries grown in the Paonia/Hotchkiss area by Big B's, we added organic cane sugar, vanilla extract from the incredible Lafaza coop, a strong pour of Law's Whiskey, some cardamom, fresh squeezed organic lemon juice, organic beet juice for color and a drop of cherry extract to create a flavorful, beautiful Colorado Cocktail Cherry.
De-stemmed & pitted (though be careful, there are some rogue ones).
Try it out, let us know what you think.

For years we have been asked "what do you have new?" or "got anything in the works?" ..well, we always have things in the works, but we have found it challenging to release new projects with all the steps that are needed to properly add it to the line. Recipe development, full range testing, new labels, upc's, photography, website, line sheets, availability update, inclusion in our retailers systems, etc..etc..etc. Things I didn't know about when I blindly started a small speciality food line. What about fun? We have lost some of the fun in the last few years...
Behold..our TEST KITCHEN line.
The TEST KITCHEN line is our way of testing out new ideas without taking them all the way to the finish line. Short runs. No branding, no upc's or line sheets or anything other than having fun and releasing it to you all for feedback. If you really like it ...maaaayyybbeee we will add it to the line. But maybe we won't. Maybe you just get a real special treat.
Only available directly through us. At occasional markets, and here.
